Will it fit through the door?

When determining if your chair will fit through the door, you need to look at a few different measurements. Firstly, measure the width of your doorframe and then compare it to the narrowest measurement of the chair, this is usually the height without the feet. If the narrowest measurement of the chair is less than the width of the doorframe, the chair will fit through.

Some chairs like the Queen Anne chair have fixed legs and are quite wide but will fit through your typical door frame by turning the chair on its side and feeding the seat back through first, then twisting the chair around and manoeuvring it through the gap. Generally, the higher the seat back the more manoeuvrability you have.

If you have any concerns about delivery or are not sure the chair will fit, please contact us and we will be able to advise you.

How do I place an order?

Does leather feel uncomfortably cold?

Many people believe that leather chairs are not suitable for cold rooms. However, this is a common misconception. The truth is that leather chairs are perfect for various temperatures. The leather material easily warms up from your body heat, making it comfortable even in chilly rooms. So, if you're looking for a cosy place to sit, a leather chair is an excellent choice.

What type of leather do you use, where is it from?

We have a few types of leather we use including, natural half-grain semi-aniline, natural full-grain aniline, corrected-grain and full-pigmented leather, each with its unique characteristics.

Generally full-pigmented leather is harder wearing than full or semi-aniline leather, but this is not always the case. Some aniline or semi-aniline leathers have been treated with an invisible topcoat that makes them extremely durable and hard-wearing. Aniline or semi-aniline leathers will mature over time and develop a patina which will enhance the appearance and give character where whereas pigmented leather pretty much holds its colour consistency over its lifetime.

Leather is a natural material that bears witness to its own life experiences. Because of this, you may notice evidence of growth lines, scars, and other natural marks on its surface. These markings are not defects but rather are unique characteristics that give leather its authenticity and beauty. So, don't be too quick to judge these marks as flaws, as they only add to the unique charm of the leather.

All our leather is sourced in the UK and Europe and complies with strict regulations and EU directives.

Are the fabrics/leather suitable for young children and pets?

Since leather is durable and easy to clean, they are a pretty good choice for homes with pets and kids. Our leathers are hardwearing and easy to maintain, in fact, they get better with age and use.

Our Velvet ranges are very much suited to a family home. Made from 100% Polyester they have an 'EasyClean' finish that acts as a shield guarding against dirt and repelling water-based liquids.

If possible, it's best to keep pets off the chair to avoid scratches and snags.

Does a leather chair require a lot of care?

Taking good care of your leather chairs is easy and simple. With just a little bit of effort, you can keep your chairs looking beautiful for years to come. All you need to do is follow some basic care steps such as cleaning, conditioning, and managing spills. Remember to avoid exposing your chair to direct sunlight and heat sources and use only leather-specific cleaners and conditioners. Follow these easy tips and you'll be able to enjoy your leather chairs for decades to come. Plus, our leathers only get better with age, wearing in, not wearing out.

How do I clean my leather chair?

Regularly wipe down the leather with a multi-fibre cloth to get rid of any dust and crumbs and now and again use a damp cloth that is not overly wet to wipe it down.

To remove any dirt or stains, simply grab a damp cloth and gently rub it in a circular motion. Make sure to dry the leather immediately with a soft cloth. If you need a little more cleaning power, a small amount of soapy water should do the trick but avoid using detergents. Please be careful not to soak the leather as it doesn't like being too wet. Avoid using all-purpose wipes, spray cleaners, furniture polish, or saddle soap, as these may damage the leather.

In case of a spill, quickly grab a paper towel and gently dab the area to absorb the liquid. Do not rub the stain. If you're dealing with food stains, after blotting, sprinkle some talcum powder or flour onto the affected area and leave it for several hours or even overnight. This will help draw out the oil. Once the powder looks saturated, simply wipe it away with a cloth.

For any awkward stains, a wide range of quality leather cleaners can be found, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions. To help keep the leather soft and supple, about once a month you can condition the leather using a specialised conditioner which will give it a new lease of life and help prevent it from drying out and cracking.

Why are there similar chairs on the market at much lower prices?

Most of these similar chairs are copies being mass-produced abroad and imported into the UK. They use inferior frames and filling and low-quality leather. They may look the same, but you will notice the difference when you sit in them and feel the leather.

All our chairs are handmade by highly skilled craftsmen who use only the finest locally sourced materials. This helps us support our local economy by providing jobs and supporting the community. Our prices are extremely competitive for the exceptional quality and service we provide.

Why is there fabric on the bottom of my cushion?

We use fabric for a couple of reasons, if the cushion was fully encased in leather on all sides, the air inside would not escape properly, and it would be like sitting on a balloon. Plus, leather has minimal frictional resistance, so if the bottom of your cushion was also leather, every time you sat down it would slip around. Therefore, a fabric backing is the best solution making the cushion practical and comfy.
